Texas Tech Alumni Association addresses forced retirement of Chancellor Duncan

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Texas Tech Alumni Association strongly supports the vet school in Amarillo.

In a letter, the association addresses the forced retirement of Chancellor Robert Duncan, effective August 31.

The Alumni Association thanks Duncan for his leadership as chancellor, citing $585 million in philanthropic support over four years. The endowment is now more than $1.3 billion.

The executive committee said his impact stretched beyond the university, making a significant difference in the region and state, with decades of effective public service and visionary leadership.

In his last visit, Governor Abbott expressed his support for the vet school. Interim Chancellor Tedd Mitchell said the system will continue to pursue that endeavor.

We're told Duncan's push for the vet school was the leading cause for a majority of regents to give him a vote of no confidence.
