Hot and sunny rest of the week, storm chance next week

LUBBOCK, Texas -

MORE HEAT: A big dome of high pressure will hold across West Texas next few days, leading to afternoons in the mid 90s with not much wind. We can't rule out an isolated storm, but it's not much of a chance.

FOOTBALL FORECAST: Both Thursday and Friday evenings the games will kick off in the lower 90s only dropping to the mid 80s. Sunset Thursday at 8:15.

WEEKEND: The high pressure ridge will slowly move east. We may have support for a few storms this weekend into early next week. Next week will be less hot, high in the upper 80s Monday and Tuesday.

7-day forecast

TEXAS TECH FORECAST: If you're headed to Houston there's a pretty good chance you'll get some rain each of the next few days with the chance higher Saturday and Sunday. It'll be muggy and hot, high in the lower 90s. Heat index even higher because of all the humidity.

It should be nice and comfortable inside of NRG Stadium.

Have a great rest of the day. Bobby will have a full update to the forecast early tomorrow.
