THIS AFTERNOON: It's climbed to the lower to mid 90s. A few clouds have gone up and even some isolated showers and storms from Abilene and the Big Country to just east of Lubbock over the Rolling Plains. These are pretty small and aren't bringing a lot of rain. Each individual shower/storm is slowly moving to the north.
Showers/storms should diminish later this evening.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear, low 69. Wind S/SE 5-15mph.
TOMORROW: Hotter and mainly sunny, high near 95. Wind S/SW 10-18mph. Once again an isolated shower or storm is possible, though the chance is low.
EXTENDED FORECAST: Friday should be the hottest afternoon, though there isn't much change from day to day. A few models are showing some storms in the area late Friday, mainly to the west and north of Lubbock. We just don't see a good sign of rain any time soon.
With the high pressure ridge farther east the temperature should come down by a few degrees next week.
Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have a full update to the forecast here early tomorrow.
