HOT PATTERN: With high pressure aloft across our region it's been a hot and somewhat hazy day. There is still some haze/smoke across the Plains, much worse across the Pacific Northwest.
A few tiny showers have popped up over the Permian Basin moving north into the South Plains. But these are only a few miles across and should fall apart through the evening.
TONIGHT: Low near 69, mostly clear. Wind ESE 5-10mph.
WEDNESDAY: High near 94 with plenty of sun, wind S/SE 5-15mph.
EXTENDED FORECAST: The hottest days should be Thursday and Friday, when high pressure is closest to Lubbock. The ridge will slowly move east. This could allow for a few storms to move into the area by the weekend, but it's not promising at this point. We mainly expect lots of sun and heat through the middle of next week.
Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have the next forecast update here early tomorrow.
