Nice start to this Friday morning!
TODAY: Staying hot with the high near 95, southwest wind changing to the southeast 6-12mph. A little better chance for some afternoon storms, 20% chance. These will be isolated with the better chances north of HWY 114 and for the western South Plains. Some might become strong to severe with heavy rain, high wind gusts, and some hail.
TONIGHT: Low near 70, mostly cloudy with the storm chance continuing.
WEEKEND: A little cooler but still hot with the high near 93 both days. A better chance for some storms, with a cold front moving through the area, late Saturday and Sunday. Like today some of these storms may become severe.
NEXT WEEK: Starting off a little below average for this time of year. Lows will be cooler as well on the 60s with highs in the upper 80s Monday. The front will dry things out for a couple of days. Might see some storms returning again by late Wednesday.
Have a great Friday and weekend! Matt will have the next update to the forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
