LUBBOCK, Texas -

Lubbock Meals on Wheels expansion is finally complete, allowing the non-profit to feed more home-bound folks.

The existing building hasn't been renovated since the 90's and the organization was no longer able to serve everyone.

"Our kitchen was too small, our pantry was too small, our volunteer center was too small. We're not government funded nor are we United Way funded agencies so we rely completely on support from the community to now feed almost 800 people every single day and we know that this will carry us 12 to 15 years into the future as the city grows and the need grows that we're now here and able to meet it," Lubbock Meals on Wheels Executive Director Lisa Gilliland said.

She said they are in need of volunteers, especially with the start of school.
