Some good rain from overnight storms for the northern counties. Here are some of the totals from the Tech Mesonet:
TODAY: Partly sunny with the high near 95. This is the second day with hot temperatures across much of the area. If you have to be outside stay hydrated and find ways to cool your body off. A few afternoon storms possible again should stay to the northern counties.
TONIGHT: Low near 71, mostly cloudy. Another chance for some overnight storms moving out of eastern New Mexico. Yet again the better chance for rain is to the northern counties.
FRIDAY: High near 93 with a 20% chance for a some isolated storms.
WEEKEND AND NEXT WEEK: Slight chance for storms continues Saturday. Then a front pushes through the area and gives us better chance for some rain Sunday. This will bring some cooler temperatures to stay off next week, but rain will come to an end early Monday morning.
Have a great Thursday! Matt will be in with the next update to the forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
