Hotter days ahead, storm chances for the weekend

Posted: Updated:

No fog expected this morning just a nice start to the day.

SCHOOL IS BACK TODAY: High warmer than yesterday around 96. Mostly sunny with a few isolated storms possible. South/southeast wind light 5-15mph. Stay hydrated and wear sunscreen if you have to be outside.

TONIGHT: Low near 71, partly cloudy sky. Models continue to show a complex of storms moving out of New Mexico and pushing into the northern counties. This complex will likely dissipate before moving into Lubbock, better chances for rain north of Plainview.

THURSDAY: A repeat day with some isolated storms and the high near 95.

EXTENDED: Some cooler temperatures with a better chance for storms this weekend. A cold front will help temperatures drop a few degrees into next week. The better storm chances looks to be late Saturday to early Monday.

Join us on Good Day until 9AM. Matt will have the next update to the forecast tonight on the News at Nine. Have a great Wednesday!
