Hotter rest of this week - FOX34 Lubbock

Hotter rest of this week

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

THIS AFTERNOON: We've got more sun across area while the rain has moved off to the east. There were a few real small showers over the Rolling Plains. The good, widespread rain runs from Abilene to Fort Worth and Dallas up to Wichita. Despite more sun, it's "only" climbed to the mid to upper 80s across most of our area.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy, low 67. Wind S 5-12mph. Sunrise 7:04 a.m.

HOTTER DAYS: With more sun it'll climb back into the 90s rest of this week. Near 92 tomorrow, 94 Wednesday and Thursday. We can't rule out one or two small storms in the area, but most of us should stay dry.

Changes return by late this week into the weekend. The big ridge of high pressure aloft should move farther west. This is bad news for the California wildfires with more hot and dry weather there. But the ridge moving west should allow another front to move across our area either this weekend or early next week.

For now we're forecasting a slight drop in the temp this weekend with a chance for some showers and storms. It looks a little bit cooler early next week.

7-day forecast

Have a great rest of the day. Bobby will have a full forecast here early tomorrow.
