Meteor shower visibility not so great tonight - FOX34 Lubbock

Meteor shower visibility not so great tonight

Its been mostly cloudy all weekend. That's great news for temperatures, and those clouds have been accompanied by showers for the most part. All-in-all it's great news! However, it seems like as we finally get a cool and wet pattern, the annual Perseid Meteor Shower arrives. While the Perseid Meteor Shower isn't a one-night event, tonight is the best night to view it. Right before dawn, meteors will be as numerous as about one per minute.

Tonight, expect a low of 65 with SE winds 5-10 and some lingering storms possible under partly cloudy skies. Monday, expect another chance of  showers and storms, however more isolated, with a high of only 86 and WNW winds 5-10 mph.

Monday isn't too different, but temperatures return to the low 90's by Tuesday. Some days are hit-or-miss when it comes to rain, but the rain we do see will be more isolated than what we've experienced the past few days. The best chance of rain for the time being seems to be the latter part of the week.
