Lubbock Salvation Army provides kids with school supplies

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Lubbock's Salvation Army provided school supplies for children living at its shelter.

The "Back to School Bash" treated 20 children to lunch and professional hairstylists gave the children a new look.

"Well I mean you know, most of the families here, they're facing difficult times right now, they're in crisis mode already. The last thing that we want are our kids is going through those doors at school without the essentials that they need. You know, that affects the learning and we don't want that," Erica Hitt, Social Services Manager, said.

All school supplies were donations and each child received one back-pack with necessities to get them through the school year.
