THIS AFTERNOON: It's heated to the mid to upper 90s across our area with plenty of sun. Looking to the northwest, there are some storms in NE New Mexico and SE Colorado. A few of those storms may make it to our area early in the morning. It's a low chance.
Low temp tonight near 70, mostly clear. Wind S/SE 5-12mph.
CHANGES AHEAD: A front will edge into our area tomorrow, ushering in a better chance for rain and less hot days. But it's still going to heat up tomorrow, near 95 in Lubbock, wind S/E 5-15mph.
There's a low chance for a shower or storm in the afternoon tomorrow. The better chance runs from Wednesday evening through early Thursday morning, both for storms developing in our area and moving into the area from the higher terrain out west.
There's a longer stretch of less hot days ahead, with mid to upper 80s generally expected Thursday through Tuesday. One of those days will probably be a bit cooler. If we get a good rain any one of these afternoons it'll be cooler.
For this point we have a decent chance for storms late Wednesday, late Thursday and late Friday. The chance drops off some, but isn't completely gone, this weekend into early next week.
If you do get rain on a few days, totals of 1/4" to 1/2" will be common. But some parts of our area could pick up more than 1", which is desperately needed.
I hope you have a great rest of the day. Bobby will have the latest update to the forecast here tomorrow morning.
