Some storms north of our area this morning and across the mid-west. Parts of Colorado was hit hard with large hail yesterday afternoon from some severe storms. They will have another chance for severe storms today as well as northern New Mexico. This activity is all from a cold front slowly pressing south.
TODAY: Staying hot and dry, the high near 95. Mostly sunny with a light south wind 8-15mph.
TONIGHT: Low near 70 with a partly cloudy sky. A few showers and storms may move into the area from New Mexico.
RAIN, RAIN ON THE WAY: This slow moving front will enter our area Wednesday. This will help fire up some storms during the afternoon. We will have the better chance for rain late Wednesday and Thursday from storms moving off the mountains of New Mexico.
Models are aligning a little better and showing this front to stall across our area. This will bring a continued chance for showers and storms. Of course we are under the drought and need the rain, this may bring the relief needed. Flooding may become a concern with multiple days of storms chances and possible heavy rainfall.
We will also notice a cool down to the lower to mid 80s for highs and lows starting off in the 60s.
Have a great Tuesday! Matt will be in with the next update to the forecast on the News at Nine.
