The Lubbock County Republican Party is fielding applications to fill the ballot position for County Court at Law Judge Number 3, following David Nelson's death.

If you have the legal credentials and are interested in that bench, submit a letter of intent to chairman Steve Evans by the end of day August 1. E-mail chairman@lubbockgop.org or visit Evans in-person from 12 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, August 1 at GOP headquarters 2642 34th Street.

You'll get the chance to address the party's executive committee at a meeting scheduled August 6. The committee will make a selection at this meeting.
