Texas Tech Athletics and its multimedia rightsholder, Learfield, have announced an extended relationship with flagship radio partner Ramar Communications.

Beginning this fall, Lubbock-based Ramar Communications will bring Red Raider game action to fans on four of its station affiliates – Double T 97.3, Magic 106.5, 107.7 Yes FM and 100.7 The Score – for the next nine years. Additionally, Ramar will introduce a new element to its Red Raider programming by launching the “Kirby Hocutt Show” in August. Ramar will produce this brand-new one-hour show featuring Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt from 12-1 p.m. each Wednesday afternoon on Double T 97.3.

“We value Ramar Communications continued focus and coverage on Texas Tech Athletics," said Hocutt. "It is unique in today's media environment to have such strong, locally owned stations. I'm excited to be able to further strengthen direct communication with our fans by debuting this new weekly show."

In the new agreement with Ramar Communications, the following stations will carry the respective sports through the 2026-27 collegiate athletic season:

“It’s been an honor to be the Red Raiders’ flagship station, and we look forward to continuing to deliver the highest quality of game broadcasts for the fans, alumni and community who don’t want to miss a moment,” said Brad Moran President and General Manager of Ramar Communications. “We’re also excited to unveil for Red Raider fans our show with Mr. Hocutt and bring a whole new aspect of the university they love to the airwaves.”

The “Kirby Hocutt Show” will debut Aug. 29, just three days before the Red Raiders open the 2018 football season in the AdvoCare Texas Kickoff against Ole Miss. Kickoff is slated for 11 a.m. from NRG Stadium in Houston with the Texas Tech Sports Network crew of Brian Jensen, John Harris and Chris Level on the call.
