THIS AFTERNOON: It has again climbed well above 100 across our area, with 104 in Lubbock and a few degrees hotter off the Caprock. Some of the highest readings in our area include 109 at Jayton and Paducah.
TONIGHT: Warm and mostly clear, low near 76.
SATURDAY: Sunny, high near 104. Record for the date, for now, is 102. Wind SW/S 5-12mph. It'll be very hot all around the region, with it edging up to near 110 in Dallas.
SUNDAY: See Saturday. Just about a repeat.
NEXT WEEK: It finally looks like the upper-level ridge will weaken some and not be parked directly overhead. A "cool" front may slide through here some time late Monday or early Tuesday, dropping Tuesday and Wednesday back closer to the average high in the lower 90s.
There is a low chance for a shower or storm from late Monday through Wednesday. It doesn't look like a lot of rain, but we'll take any we get. At least the temperature drop does look pretty likely.
Have a great weekend. Robert will have a full update to the forecast Saturday afternoon.
