Man wrongly named as suspect in Dallas police shooting sues

Posted: Updated:
DALLAS -

A man is suing the city of Dallas after Dallas Police wrongly identified him as the man that killed five officers in 2016 at the time of the attack.

The lawsuit claims officers arrested Mark Hughes, but he wasn't involved in the case and police questioned him without stating his Miranda Rights.

Court documents indicate police posted a picture of Hughes holding a rifle at a rally before the shooting asking for people to find him.

The Dallas Police Department declined to comment.
