Scattered storms this evening and Sunday evening

More scattered showers and thunderstorms again this evening across the South Plains. Severe weather has remained unlikely throughout the day, as there just isn't enough to really take advantage of the enhanced moisture.  They'll likely dissipate before midnight again, but expect some more tomorrow afternoon.. The threat for any of these storms to become severe is fairly low.

Tonight, we'll drop back into the 60s with some partly cloudy skies. Expect winds out of the east around 5-10. Highs struggle to reach the 90s again tomorrow, with Lubbock's forecast high at 88.

This weekend's showers are brought to you by the excessive easterly moisture, but not much else is available for the atmosphere to tap into to really augment these storms. It's possible that we could see a few showers on Monday, but for the time being I'm keeping our forecast dry. The average high temperature each day in July is 93° so it doesn't look like we'll stray too far from that next week.

I'll be back tomorrow to keep an eye on the storms. While no severe weather is likely, keep the lightning in mind if you have plans outdoors!
