LUBBOCK, Texas -

Updated July 3, 6:17 p.m.:  Augustine Garcia Jr., 27, is now in custody charged with aggravated assault in connection to the July 2 stabbing of a 25-year-old male in the 2300 block of Auburn Street.

Through the investigation, lPD detectives identified Garcia as a suspect in the stabbing and an arrest warrant was secured. By 5:30 p.m., investigators located Garcia and arrested him without incident. The Texas Anti-Gang Center of Lubbock assisted with his arrest. 

This case remains under investigation.


Detectives with the Lubbock Police Department Persons Crimes Unit are investigating an early morning stabbing that sent one man to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

On Monday, at approximately 12:45 a.m., the Lubbock Police Department responded to the McDonald’s at 102 North University Avenue for reports of an injured male outside the business.

Officers were advised employees called police when the 25-year-old male walked up to the drive-thru and asked for help. It appeared the male had stab wounds and was taken by ambulance to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

Detectives arrived on scene to begin investigating and were able to determine the original crime scene was located in the 2300 block of Auburn Street.

At this time, no arrests have been made in this case. It remains under investigation by the LPD Persons Crimes Unit.
