LUBBOCK, Texas -

We had a good night of rainfall in some locations.  From the Tech Mesonet here are some of those totals:

Gail 2.07"
Muleshoe 1.14"
Post 1.07"
Amherst 1.05"
Snyder 1.03"
White River Lake 0.78"
Wolfforth 0.65"
Slaton 0.57"
Lubbock TTU 0.32"

We still have a few showers with embedded thunderstorms this morning. These are slowly moving to the west, adding a few hundredths of an inch to some locations.

TODAY: High near 94, partly cloudy sky with a southeast wind 10-18mph. We will continue a chance for storms this afternoon and evening. The better looks for the western half of the South Plains.

TONIGHT: Low near 71, partly cloudy rain chances coming to an end.

WARMER DAYS: Through Independence Day temperatures will climb back up to the upper 90s and lower 100s. Lower chance for storms, but a storm or two can't be ruled out.

LATE WEEK: We will be on the southeast side of a high pressure system, this will bring some cooler temperatures after the 4th. A disturbance may bring some additional rain by late Thursday and into Friday.

Matt will have the next update to the forecast tonight on the News at Nine. Have a great Monday!
