Some evening storms, heating up to Independence Day

Expect a slightly better chance of a thunderstorms today than what we saw on Saturday. Severe weather is unlikely, but we could see a storm cop an attitude this evening.

Showers could linger beyond midnight, so expect a few clouds with lows near 70° and a SSW wind near 10. Into Monday, the threat of rain will remain well toward the north, closer toward Amarillo. A stray storm could possibly meander south into our area, but I'm keeping our forecast dry with a high of 95 and mostly sunny skies. Winds will be SSE 5-15mph.

As we approach Independence Day, the temperatures will climb into the upper 90s. Another front will help us from reaching the 100s again as we head into the weekend. The front could stall however, so expect a few clouds potentially Thursday and Friday, with some cooler temps into the weekend. Right now I don't think we'll see much rain out of this front even if it stalls across the area until the weekend, but we'll see how the forecast plays out in the coming days.

Again, as for Independence Day, it looks hot so enjoy America's birthday and stay hydrated! It will still be in the 80s by the time the fireworks go off.

Bobby is back in the morning, enjoy the evening!
