Hot today with a chance for storms

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Another mild morning with some high clouds across the area.

TODAY: High near 98, mostly sunny with clouds increasing this afternoon. Slight chance for storms during the day towards the TX/NM border. South wind will stay breezy 15-22mph. 

TONIGHT: Low mild again at 74, better chance for storms starting this evening into the early morning hours. Scattered showers and storms will bring some locations some rain while others may be missed. 

WEEKEND: A little bit cooler with highs in the lower to mid 90s. Slight chance for isolated storms will continue. Sunday a cold front will push into the area, depending on where it stalls at we may see some even cooler temperatures. 

NEXT WEEK: Rain chances coming to an end Monday, a ridge of higher pressure will bring the hotter temperatures and sunny sky.
