High Point Village receives donation from local businesses

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Programs for people with special needs are often overlooked. Two business are looking to change that. 

South Plains Electric Cooperative and Co-Bank donated $10,000 to the High Point Village program. High Point Village focuses on providing assistance in helping those with learning disabilities achieve their full potential and creates an environment that promotes education, faith and social skills.

"This donation is incredibly important for our villagers. It'll allow High Point Village to offer more quality of programs. It helps us maintain the staff that we have and all of the really cool things that we're doing, so it's really important for us," High Point Village program director, Jamie Havens, said.

The money donated is just in time for the programs first annual golf tournament, recognizing abilities.
