Hot weather taking over again

Hot weather taking over again

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

It was nice yesterday to have a break from the 100+ degree weather. Most of the area stayed in the 80 and low 90s. The clouds have cleared and it's warmer this morning.

TODAY: The heat is returning as a ridge of high pressure moves closer to the area. High near 97 sunny sky, an isolated storm or two may develop with the daytime heating. South wind will stay light 10-15mph.

TONIGHT: Low near 73, mostly clear sky.

HOT WEEK: The high pressure system will continue pressing east. This will keep our temperatures above average all week.

NEXT RAIN CHANCE: We will be in between two systems that will help bring better moisture into the area. We might see some storms as early as late Friday, with a little better chances through the weekend.

Join us on Good Day Lubbock until 8am, FIFA world cup will then start. Matt will have the next update tonight on the News at Nine.
