Storms developed in the northern panhandle this morning, unfortunately this will stay out of our area. Clear sky and mild start to the morning.
TODAY: High near 100, find ways to stay cool and hydrated through this heat. It will be mostly sunny and breezy with a southwest wind 15-25mph. There is a slight chance for storms to develop in eastern New Mexico and move through the northwestern counties later in the day. If they fire up some might become strong to severe, with hail and high wind gusts.
TONIGHT: Low near 73, a few clouds and south wind staying a light breeze 12-22mph.
HOT WEEKEND: A cold front will push through the area early Saturday. It will only drop highs a few degrees. Breezy south wind retiring Sunday and highs will climb back into the low 100s.
NEXT WEEK: Not much changing with highs in the mid to upper 90s with lows in the 70s. Little to no chance for rain for the area.
Join us on Good Day until 9am. Matt will have the Next update to the forecast on the News at Nine. Have a great Friday and stay cool this weekend.
