UPDATE: Guard arrested, charged with aiding 3 at-large Clovis inmates' escape

Update (2:45 p.m. Saturday, June 16)

As a result of the on-going investigation into the escape of Aaron Clark, Victor Apodaca, and Ricky Sena from the Curry County Detention Center on June 15, 2018, evidence was found that suggests the 3 inmates had inside assistance that enabled their escape.

On the evening of June 15th, an arrest warrant was issued for Sarina Dodson (28, Clovis) for the charge of assisting escape (aiding a prisoner to escape), a third degree felony. Dodson is a detention officer at the Curry County Detention Center and was working at the time of the escape.

During the early morning hours of June 16th, Dodson was located in the Lubbock, Texas area and arrested by the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office. 

The 3 escapees remain at-large. AN extensive search by law enforcement is continuing.

Anyone with information concerning the escape or location of the escapees is asked to contact the Curry county Sheriff's Office at 575-769-2335, or they can remain anonymous and be considered for a reward of up to $1000 by calling Curry County Crime Stoppers at 575-763-7000.

At approximately 11:05 a.m., the Curry County Detention Center reported the escape of three inmates from the facility. Escapees were last seen exiting an east facing door and traveling north on foot. All three were seen wearing white t-shirts, white boxer shorts and white bandanas.

Law enforcement is currently searching for: 

Aaron Davis Clark - white male, 31 years of age, blond hair (burr style haircut) hazel eyes, wears dark rimed prescription glasses, 6’1”, 255 lbs. Tattoos: Right side neck – Lion with crown; left side neck – Letter “C” with a crown on top; throat – Letter “G”; left hand- $100 dollar bills; right hand – cobra snake; right forearm – skull, tombstones; right upper arm – skulls, Jessica Rabbit, gun. Currently being held for failure to appear, possession of a firearm or destructive device by a felon, attempt to commit child abuse, theft of identity and credit card fraud.

Victor Andrew Apodaca – Hispanic male, 28 years of age, black hair, brown eyes, 5”10”, 155 lbs. Tattoos: Neck – “RENEE”, “ANDREA”; left hand fingers – “ANDREA”; back – “APODACA”. Currently being held for possession of a firearm by a felon, receiving stolen property, trafficking controlled substances, distribution of marijuana and failure to appear for conspiracy to commit trafficking. Also being held for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for charges in that state

Ricky Ramon Sena – Hispanic male, 24 years of age, black hair, brown eyes, 6’0”, 145 lbs. Tattoos: Right arm – “Sena” with 2 Zia symbols; Inner right arm – Zia symbol with NM state outline; left upper arm – “SONIA”; right wrist – “GRACE”; left hand – “CURRY”, face; chest – “NUEVO MEXICO”; back - “RIP SANTOS”; left leg – female, smoke, flames, Aztec temple and dragon. Currently being held for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Anyone with information concerning the location of these escapees are asked to contact any law enforcement agency as soon as possible.
