A few light showers with some embedded thunderstorms off to the far northeastern Rolling Plains this morning.
We have some clouds but no rain in Lubbock. Mild temperatures with most of us in the 70s.
TODAY: Mostly sunny and warm again, high near 94. South wind will pick up 10-18mph. We should stay dry but can't rule out a few isolated storms.
TONIGHT: Low near 70, mostly clear.
Friday: High near 93, sunny with the south wind continuing 10-18mph.
BETTER RAIN CHANCES: Tropical Storm Bud will make landfall today off the coast of Baja California. This system will continue to move northeast bring some much needed rain this weekend for New Mexico. Those rain chances will continue to push east across the South Plains as early as late Saturday. Gulf moisture will also enter the picture next week as a Low pressure system digs along the west coast. This will continue the storm chances next week with hopefully some wide spread rainfall.
Join us on Good Day Lubbock until 9am. Matt will have the next update tonight on the News at Nine. Have a great Thursday!
