LUBBOCK, Texas -

Lubbock Police have released more information about a drive-by shooting Tuesday near 37th Street and Avenue U.

Some people in a car waved for an ambulance to stop near 34th and W. The ambulance took the shooting victim, a 16-year-old girl, to the hospital with serious injuries. At this time it appears she'll survive.

Investigators say a male suspect fired multiple shots out of a car toward a group of people standing outside a home on 37th Street. The car sped away. Multiple vehicles were also hit by shots.

Officers later found the vehicle on Parkway Drive just east of MLK Drive. No suspects were with the vehicle.

Detectives believe the shooting is an ongoing dispute between multiple people. Investigators with the Lubbock Texas Anti-Gang Center are also investigating.
