Heat sticking around rest of the week

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

We had a few isolated storms yesterday evening across the area. Texas Tech Mesonet in Lubbock received 0.22" while the airport received 0". Some other locations received light amounts of a few hundredths of an inch or less.

Mostly clear start this morning with temperatures are in the upper 60s and 70s.

TODAY: High near 103, stay hydrated and wear sunscreen if you plan on being outside. Mostly sunny sky with a light breeze 10-15mph from the south. A few isolated storms possible from daytime heating, most of us staying dry.

TONIGHT: Low near 73, mostly clear sky. South southwest wind will pick up a little bit 12-18mph.

Staying hot for the rest of the week with highs ranging from the upper 90s to lower 100s. A few isolated storms possible with a better chance on Friday. These isolated storms won't bring much in rainfall, but some strong wind with a quick downpour possible.

It will become a little cooler this weekend and to begin next week as temperatures will be in the mid to upper 90s. Still above the average high at 90 degrees. The rain chances still continue to be low across the area.

Join us on Good Day until 9am. Matt will have the next update on the New at Nine. Have a great Wednesday!
-Bobby
