LUBBOCK, Texas -

MLK Blvd. has re-opened between 40th and 50th Streets after a chemical spill forced its closure Tuesday afternoon.

Lubbock Fire Rescue reports a container of muriatic acid spilled at Coty Chemical near 44th Street, pouring the acid into the roadway.

Crews stopped it before it got into the city drainage system. The clean-up took more than four hours.

No one was hurt.
