Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

We tied the record high temperature yesterday afternoon at 102°. We are starting off warm and muggy start this Friday morning.

TODAY: High near 106, southwest wind 10-18mph. If you are heading out to the Texas Tech Baseball game today wear loose fitting clothing and sunscreen, stay hydrated. First pitch is at 1PM and it will be edging to 100 degrees. Mostly sunny with a slight chance for some storms to develop off the dry line this afternoon. Don't expect much in precipitation, most of the area staying dry.

?

TONIGHT: Low near 71, mostly clear sky.

COOLER WEEKEND: Cold front will push through the area early Saturday morning. This will bring a breezy northeast wind 15-25mph through most of the day. Also dropping the highs to near average by Sunday. A disturbance will move across the area bringing another slight chance for storms Late Sunday into Monday.

HEAT RETURNING: Get ready for 100+ degree days next week with lots of sun. As many other I am tired of this heat already and we are not even in Summer yet.

Join us on Good Day Lubbock until 9am. Matt will have the next update tonight on the News at Nine. Have a safe and great Friday!
