Staying hot and sunny this week

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

It was a busy afternoon for severe weather for northern Texas Panhandle to Wyoming. Today another large area expected to see severe weather. This does include large damaging hail and tornadoes.

For us across the South Plains staying hot and dry! Today's high near 100, southwest wind will bring dryer air with a light breeze 10-18mph.

TONIGHT: Low near 65 with a clear sky.

WEDNESDAY: High near 103, sunny and dry.

EXTENDED: New record temperatures will be possible this week as a ridge of high pressure moves across the area. This ridge will weaken some this weekend and a disturbance may bring a small chance for storms on Sunday. Overall little to no chance for precipitation in sight.

Join us on Good Day Lubbock until 9am. Matt will have the next updated forecast tonight on the News at Nine. Have a great first day at work for most of you!
