Boys and Girls Club of Lubbock gets fresh coat of paint

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The John Wilson Boys and Girls Club building at 59th and Hartford got a face lift, courtesy Sherwin Williams.

It's celebrating the start of National Painting Week starts May 25 and runs through June 4th.

Sherwin Williams sent employees and a lot of paint to make over the interior. The club hasn't been re-painted since 2002.

"It's just a partnership that we have where we try to integrate ourselves with the community, so that's the gist of it. How can we help be a better partner in the community, so if we can provide a better place for kids to come and play, that's what we encourage," Kenton Baron with Sherwin Williams said.

The colors aren't changing, still "positive red," "sassy green," purple, and yellow. The club wants the palette to stay the same.

Boys and Girls Club of Lubbock has been operating in Lubbock since 1940.
