Showers have really dissipated over the last few hours. The rain stayed west with a few totals from the Tech Mesonet:
Dora NM 0.53”
Tatum NM 0.56”
TODAY: High near 84, partly to mostly cloudy. A 20% storm chance to the west with some strong to severe with large hail and high wind gusts.
TONIGHT: We should see another round of showers and storms moving from New Mexico and moving into the area in the early morning hours. Low near 64.
NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS: Temperatures will be warmer in the mid to upper 80s. The slight chance for storms will continue as a upper level low system near Nevada continues to bring moisture across the area. Better chances remain in New Mexico thanks to the mountain, these will continue moving east into our area early in the morning.
MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND: Lots of sun with temperatures climbing to the upper 90s. A few isolated storms can't be ruled out but overall should be dry and hot.
Join us on Good Day Lubbock until 9am. Matt will have the next updated forecast tonight on the News at Nine. Have a great Tuesday!
