ANOTHER RECORD: It reached 102 this afternoon in Lubbock, breaking the previous record of 101 last reached in 2000. This is the second day in a row we've set a record and the second day this year to reach at least 100 at the Lubbock airport.
TONIGHT: Breezy and mild, low in the mid to upper 60s.
SATURDAY: Likely third record high in a row. Record for the date is 98, we're forecasting 100. An isolated late-day storm is possible, though it's a slim chance. SW wind 10-20mph.
SUNDAY: The support for storms looks slightly better, though it's only a 20% chance that you'll get a storm. High in the mid 90s. If storms do develop they may become strong, possibly severe.
NEXT WEEK: There's a decent chance for a few storms Monday and Tuesday...but still not widespread coverage that we need. Though it won't be as hot as the past several days here, we still expect it to stay hot.
Have a great weekend. Robert will have a full update to the forecast Saturday afternoon.
