LUBBOCK, Texas -

One person is facing charges after a chase and a brief standoff at the Johnson Controls building Thursday.

According to the DPS, investigators near 39th and Uvalde spotted a vehicle believed to have been reported stolen from Texas Tech. They attempted to pull it over, the driver took off. The DPS helicopter was called in.

Law officers followed the vehicle to the Johnson Controls building near the airport. Troopers say one of the people in the vehicle ran inside, another person stayed outside. Johnson Controls supervisors evacuated the building and the two suspects were taken in without further incident.

Investigators recovered ID cards and other documents from the stolen SUV, a vehicle wanted by multiple agencies in numerous burglaries. A second stolen vehicle was recovered at 39th and Uvalde.

Ismael Matthew Gonzales, 30, is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and evading arrest. The second suspect has not been charged at this point.
