Plainview Downtown Association presents “Mother’s Day Special”

Plainview Downtown Association will be presenting the Mother’s Day Special “Second Saturday” in Plainview’s downtown historical district on Saturday, May 8th beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing throughout the day.

Retail dealers include The Rusty Rose, Masso's, Broadway Treasures, Plainview Antiques, Horton's Antiques, Furniture Decor & More, Salvation Army, Broadway Gifts & Antiques, Hello Baby, It’s a Girl Thing, It’s a Girl Thing, Too!, The Broadway Brew, Carlito's Mexican Restaurant, Diana's Traveling Boutique Store, CC’s Junque to Antiques, CAMP and The Radiant Lily.

10 am 2nd Saturday begins

Shop the monthly SALES at participating downtown retailers.  Enjoy a Mimosa or Bloody Mary, maybe a Nutrition Shake or special coffee at the Brew.    Take in the many craft and homemade good vendors, cruise the Antique stores for that special Mother’s Day find.


The Free Yoga class at Downtown Nutrition, 805 Broadway, will be especially designed for Mom.  De-stress with this relaxing class, perfect for total beginners or those in need of restorative therapy.  Donations accepted.

11am – 1pm Music by The Cover Hogs

The Sweeney Family Music Band will be playing in the pocket park on 6th Street, directly across from the Courthouse, next to Masso’s. Don’t miss this great band.

11 am to 3pm FOOD TRUCKS

There will be several Food Trucks including The Stand, Pile Up, Angel Star Food (Filipino Mexican fusion), DJ’s Smokin’ BBQ and Blue Oasis Ice Cream

1pm – 3pm Music by Tanner C. Lane

Tanner C. Lane will be playing in the pocket park on 6th Street, directly across from the Courthouse, next to Masso’s.  Old Country songs like Merle Haggard’s Swingin’ Doors from this talented Plainview native will warm your heart.

3pm Step and Slide anyone can join Line Dancing

Join in the fun at the corner of 7th and Ash, right by the Broadway Brew.  Let's build and spread the culture!! Healthy, Fun, Entertaining!! Old dances to the latest dances. Party Slides and Chicago Style Stepping!!

4 pm Concert on the “Play Me” Street Piano

In front of Horton Antiques at 607 Broadway there will be a very artsy piano beckoning passerby’s to sit down and play.  Plainview’s own virtuoso Brent Lemons will thrill us with an impromptu concert.  Let your kids give it a whirl... who knows... maybe a star will be born.

6pm- 9pm Live Tejano Music and Charity Skateboard Auction benefiting CAMPs Youth Programing

CAMP is at 219 E. 6th on the corner of E 6th and Beech, two blocks East of the Courthouse. Over 50 Skateboards created by area youth and 25 boards by regional professional artists will be on view and for auction at Contemporary Art Museum Plainview.  Come out and support these kids and pick up some truly collectable works of art. 

Throughout the Day Craft vendors

Located at the Radiant Lily, Broadway Gifts & Antiques and Masso’s will be Martha McKay, Lynette Mooney, Rachel hurt, Brandon Rowell, Thomas McCaugh, Sherry Neff, Kayla Caldwell, and Jennifer Riley.

The Plainview Downtown Association is dedicated to the continued growth of this project and is confident that the consistency of downtown events being held on 2nd Saturdays will generate increasing participation, boosting tourism and encouraging economic development.
