LUBBOCK, Texas -

Thunderstorms developed this morning and brought some needed rain to the eastern counties. As of 4:24am here are some rain totals from Texas Tech Mesonet:

Spur 0.41"
Jayton 0.39"
Paducah 0.39"
Slaton 0.36" with a wind gust of 59mph
O'Donnell 0.32
Ralls 0.30"

Storms continuing to push out of the area, ending our rain chances. 

TODAY: High near 82, sunny and breezy, West-Southwest wind 12-22mph.

TONIGHT: Low near 51, cold front arrives, wind changing to the northeast 10-18mph.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny with lighter wind. Highs will be a little cooler into the 70s across the area. 

WEEKEND: A lot outdoor events going on it will be extremely nice! Temperatures in the 80s with a light wind, plenty of sunshine. 

EXTENDED: Highs climbing back into the mid to upper 80s with some stronger wind returning by Tuesday.
