South Plains College to honor retirees on May 4

On May 4, South Plains College will recognize seven employees who retired during the spring 2018 semester. The retirees combined for 142 years of service to SPC and each played a vital role in the success the college as well as the thousands of students who pass through its doors each year. 

The retirees will be honored with a reception at 1:30 p.m. on May 4 (Friday) in the Sundown Room.

The retirees are Terry Busby, Linda McGann, Olga Paredez, Graciela Quinonez, Randall Redman, Maggie Seymour and Sam Wages.

Busby, Benefits Coordinator, retired with 18 years of service. She started working for the college on Jan. 10, 2000. Her last day on campus was Jan. 31, 2018.

McGann, Associate Professor of English, is retiring after 17 years of service. She began working at SPC on June 5, 2000. Her last day on campus will be May 11, 2018.

Paredez, Custodian, is retiring with 14 years of service. She started working at the college on Oct. 13, 2003. Her last day on campus was Jan. 31, 2018.

Quinonez, Director of the Plainview Extension Center, retired Dec. 31, 2017. She started working at the college on July 12, 1993.   

Redman, Assistant Professor of Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology, is retiring with 15 years of service. He started his career at SPC on Jan. 13, 2003. His last day on campus will be May 11, 2018.

Seymour, Assistant Professor of Education, is retiring with 22 years of service. She started working for SPC on Aug. 23, 1993. Her last day on campus is May 11, 2018.

Wages, Professor of Human Services and Rehabilitation Science, is retiring with 31 years of service. He started working at SPC on Jan. 6, 1988. His last day on campus will be May 11, 2018.
