Students and staff pack the Hutchinson Middle School auditorium for the play.
It's a unique performance for Zander and Aspen Zesiger.
The administrator calls them to the stage, asking them to rub the genie's lamp.
Their father, Army Major Bryan Zesiger, takes over for the genie.
"I had no idea what was going on until you popped up. I don't really think it's a feeling that you can describe, I can't really," Zander Zesiger said.
This is the first time he's seen his kids in more than a year.
"I've been gone for 375 days, so they saw me about ten days before I left," Zesiger said.
Major Zesiger is in town with his family through the weekend.
