Temporary hold on online crime reports for the public

Posted: Updated:

Online Reporting Temporarily Shut Down

(LUBBOCK, TX) – Starting March 24th, the public will no longer be able to file crime reports online. This is only temporary, as the Lubbock Police Department is transitioning to a new, more user friendly software. Once the new program is installed and finalized, the public will again be able to file online crime reports for non-emergencies.

The public can expect major changes in the process of filing an online report. The new software will guide the person step by step, prompting them with questions for information. This will streamline the process to ensure individuals are providing the most important and necessary information for investigators to follow up on the report.

The public can still file crime reports the following ways:

·        To report emergencies call 911

·        To report non-emergencies call (806)775-2865 to talk with a dispatcher.

·        To file a report in person, visit the LPD front desk at 916 Texas Avenue.

The Lubbock Police Department continually strives to improve the services provided to the community and appreciates the public’s patience as the transition is made. LPD will update the media and LPD social media pages once the new system is in place and online reports can be filed.
