Light mix possible tonight, warmer weekend ahead

LUBBOCK, Texas -

ICY SPOTS: There was just a little bit of freezing drizzle and sleet around Lubbock. Drive just a few miles south and U.S. 87 was an icy mess this morning, with several rollovers in southern Lubbock County to northern Lynn County. There were more icy problems to the southeast, forcing some school delays and closures. Travel conditions are worse from Abilene to Wichita Falls.

There has been some light freezing drizzle and/or sleet late this afternoon to the east of Lubbock. There is still a slight chance for a little bit sleet, freezing drizzle or snow tonight into early Thursday. While it won't be much, we could still see some icy bridges. The greater concern for icy spots is well east of Lubbock.

WARMER DAYS: It'll climb back into the mid 60s Friday.

This weekend looks breezy to windy, 60s both afternoons.

NEXT WEEK: No good chance for rain at this point. It'll get slightly warmer through mid-week.
