Dog food recall

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK COUNTY, Texas -

There's reports of a potentially fatal ingredient in some dog food products. FDA officials have recalled dog food products made by the J. M. Smucker company, after finding a presence of pentobarbital, an ingredient commonly used to euthanize animals, in some of its canned goods.

Pets that consume pentobarbital can experience symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, and loss of balance. Representatives at the J.M. Smucker company issued a statement calling the news 'very serious' and 'extremely disappointing'.

Following the recent events, the company issued their own voluntary recall on shipments of Gravy Train, Kibbles 'n Bits, Ol' Roy and Skippy canned goods.
