Finally had some good rainfall across the South Plains late Friday into this morning. Most of the higher amounts were from western New Mexico to the northern half of the South Plains. Just some of the totals from Texas Tech Mesonet:
Lubbock Airport: 0.18”
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy, low near 38, East/Southeast wind 5-15mph.
SUNDAY: High near 74, partly cloudy, and a breezy South/Southwest wind 15-25mph. There is a small chance for some showers in the afternoon and evening. Better chances will be to the Southeastern half of the area. The showers may linger around into the early morning hours of Monday.
NEXT WEEK: The wind is going to stick around through most of the week. The strongest wind will be on Monday with wind speeds 20-35mph, blowing dust possible. Temperatures will stay warm until Wednesday. A cold front will drop highs from the upper 60s to mid 40s. Another small chance for some rain late week with strong wind and warmer temperatures.
