A hundred smoke alarms for a hundred years. The Red Cross is installing free alarms for Lubbock residents and asking for your help with donations to fund the cause.

Executive Director Laura Hann says people die every day in because of a home fire.

"Nationwide, on average, seven people lose their life every single day because of a home fire and an additional 36 people end up with severe injuries and end up in the emergency room because of injuries sustained in the home fire." she said.

The installations will be April 7.
