Rain tonight, warmer this weekend

Rain tonight, warmer this weekend

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

RECORD SET: We didn't get any rain before Midnight last night. But we did pick up 0.01" of rain mid-day today. This means a period running from November to yesterday of 99 days is in the record books for longest stretch without measurable precipitation at the Lubbock airport. And we actually got the smallest amount to end the streak, 0.01" of rain mid-day today. We should add to that tonight. Records go back a little more than a century.

TONIGHT: Cloudy with some rain. Best time frame for rain is from later this evening through early in the morning. It might get cold enough for a few snow flakes to mix in, but generally it should be just rain.

SATURDAY: Clearing sky from west to east in the morning. Sunny in the afternoon, high 66. Wind W/NE 5-15mph.

SUNDAY: A few more clouds, high near 73. Breezy SW wind 12-22mph. We can't rule out a few isolated showers late.

NEXT WEEK: The wind gets even stronger Monday with the high in the mid 70s. It'll be a bit gusty first half of the week. Wednesday will be cooler in the upper 40s. No good sign of rain next week.

7-day forecast

Have a great weekend. Bobby will have a full update to your forecast on Saturday.
