Fantastic Teeth program provides dental kits for Lubbock ISD students

Posted: Updated:

Lubbock ISD is teaching kids about dental hygiene at a young age.

A local mason lodge passed out a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and a timer to kids at Bowie Elementary School.

February is Dental Awareness Month and the district is teaching first graders that having healthy teeth means you are healthier overall.

Chris Felton at Yellowhouse Masonic Lodge says over 150,000 kits will be handed out to kids across the state this year.

"Whatever things that we can do to help their health and their future... it gives you that warm fuzzy feeling so to speak," Felton said.

He says 92 schools across the region will be passing out kits to their students.
