TONIGHT: A few clouds, low near 23. Wind NE/E 5-12mph. There may be some more low clouds by sunrise.
TUESDAY: It'll be a little warmer than today, high near 59. Wind becoming SE 5-15mph. Mostly sunny.
WARMER MID-WEEK: It'll reach the mid to upper 70s Wednesday beneath a partly cloudy sky. Thursday the wind will get a little stronger, high lower 70s.
LATE WEEK CHANGES: We're watching an upper-level storm system that'll slowly move across the Desert Southwest this week. It'll be weakening as it approaches our region. But it might be able to produce some showers here from late Thursday night through early Saturday morning. Amounts look pretty light. The better chance for showers is south and east of here.
We also expect a strong cold front to move across the area, setting up a much colder Friday afternoon...high in the 40s. It may get cold enough for some snow to mix in with the rain.
While we don't see a great chance for showers, it's more than we've had in a long time. After Monday it's 96 days without measurable precipitation at the Lubbock airport. The records is 98 days. Thursday would set the record.
Have a great evening. Whitney will have a full update to the forecast here early tomorrow morning.
