Clouds continued to press off to the east, but it was another cold afternoon with highs in the lower to mid 40s. Today is the 95th day without measurable precipitation. If we stay dry through Thursday we will set a new dry streak record.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear sky, low near 21. A Southeast wind 5-10mph will make the wind chill in the teens.
MONDAY: Might have some clouds early in the morning, but will clear out for a mostly sunny afternoon. Staying cold but a little warmer than Sunday, high near 49.
EXTENDED: Temperatures will continue to climb with highs in the 70s by Wednesday. Cloud cover will continue to increase through the week with moisture returning to West Texas Thursday. A strong front will drop highs from the 70s Thursday to the 40s on Friday. This front will also provide a chance for precipitation starting late Thursday through early Saturday. The long-range models have not agreed completely on the outcome for now. One model is bringing us a good chance for rain and wintry mix, where as, the other model is not as promising. We will keep you updated through the week as we get closer to the event.
