Springs Fellowship hosts 'Night to Shine' prom for special needs students

Posted: Updated:

Nearly 530 venues around the world host a "Night to Shine" prom for special needs students, including the Springs Fellowship church right here in Lubbock.

It's a chance for these students to have an unforgettable night, to make them all feel like royalty. They arrived in style and walked the red carpet for a night of dancing, photos and karaoke.

The event is in coordination with the Tim Tebow Foundation.

"This is the third year it's been held," planning committee co-chair Aaron Hill said. "The Tim Tebow foundation has been doing it for four years now. We started off with 56 guests the first year, 111 the second year, and we're up over 220 this year. So, it's just exponential growth."

To round out the night, every attendee was crowned prom king and queen.
